What should I do if I can’t get my driver profile verified?

To rent a car on Getaround, your profile needs to be verified by our team.

If you're having issues with your verification, think to check your emails. An email will be sent to explain why your profile can't be verified, or requesting additional documents.

To make your profile verification easier make sure:

  • The name entered on your Getaround account matches the name on your driving licence
  • Your driving licence is signed
  • You sent a photo of your driving licence (front and back)
  • Your selfie is clear with your face in the center
  • Your photos are clear and not blurry
  • You have entered in your personal information correctly for the licence check (National Insurance Number, postcode and licence number)
  • If the licence check didn't work, you'll need to provide a DVLA code

NB: The pictures you send us for verification need to be of the original and final documents. For instance, a temporary licence will not be accepted. Find more information on the conditions to rent a car here.

If your rental is about to start and your profile hasn't been verified, you can contact us.

However, if your profile can't be verified because you can't provide the necessary documents, the owner unfortunately won't be able to do anything and you will need to cancel the rental.
