Can't unlock or lock the car

To unlock the vehicle, go to your rental and tap ‘Start rental’.

If this button isn’t available, there might be several reasons:

If the button is available, but you can’t unlock the vehicle:

  • Go to your rental and tap ‘Contact us’ so we can help you.

Where will I find the car keys on my Getaround Connect rental?

When renting with Getaround Connect, you don't meet the owner directly, the keys will be left inside the car. The owner usually leaves them in the glovebox or in a pouch in the sun visor.

If the car keys aren't there, check out the instructions from the owner, it will tell you where they left the keys. You can find them on your Getaround app as soon as your rental has started, on the rental page.

If the owner didn't specify where the keys would be, or they're not where the owner said they would be, try contacting the owner for more information.
