What happens if the driver can't give the car back where agreed?

For mobile and paper rentals:

At the end of the rental, the driver should return the car to the address on the listing, unless another location has been mutually agreed upon.

For Getaround Connect rentals:

For street parking: the driver should return the car within a radius of 400 metres of its listing position. You should provide additional guidance on where to park easily, or whether a specific zone is not authorised. If the driver parks the car more than 400 metres away from its listing address without your explicit agreement, you will be entitled to the following compensation:

  • from 400m to 2km away: £20
  • from 2km to 10km away: £50
  • more than 10km away: £100

Please note the driver should not have to pay for parking. However, they must return the car in an authorised location. In the event of a ticket for parking in an unauthorised space, the driver will be responsible for paying the fine.

For private parking: the driver should return the car to the specific spot you describe in your instructions. If they park in another spot without your explicit agreement, you will be entitled to the following compensation:

  • other spot within the carpark/driveway: £20
  • within a 2km radius outside the parking lot: £30
  • from 2km to 10km away: £50
  • more than 10km away: £100
