Founded in 2009 by Sam Zaid, Jessica Scorpio and Elliot Kroo, Getaround is the leading car sharing platform worldwide, and it's available in the USA, France, Germany, Spain, Austria, Belgium, Norway and the UK. The Getaround app allows drivers to find a car nearby, open it with their smartphone and drive away.

Car sharing is increasingly becoming the alternative to owning a car. Sharing existing cars promotes a more sustainable use of cars in cities, resulting in fewer cars on the road, more urban space available and more freedom to move.

In 2019, Getaround acquired Drivy, one of Europe's biggest car sharing services and Nabobil, the leading car sharing platform in Norway. More than 300 people now work at the company, all with one unique vision: a world where all cars are shared.

The Getaround app is available in more than 950 cities in Europe and the USA.

• Carsharing company Getaround has announced a global partnership with Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) provider Moovit, enabling users in the UK, France, Germany and Belgium to view carsharing options in the Moovit app.
